Everyone Sins.

What is sin? Sin is wrongdoing and evil thinking, and it is foul words spoken against God or other people. So why do we sin? Our world has fallen from God’s perfect design. Therefore we are born into sin. The temptations of the world enslave and rule over us, so we refuse to worship God. Can anyone save themselves from God’s correction, discipline, or punishment? No. God is just (righteous). A righteous payment for sins must be made to Him. Our sins make us unrighteous. But our works are insufficient payments to a Holy God. We cannot save ourselves.

Because God is good, he has made a way for us to be forgiven of our sins and receive peace. That is why God sent His son, Jesus Christ, to this world. Without Jesus, we would be permanently lost. Since everyone sins, what should everyone do? We should humble ourselves before God. Then we should cry out to Jesus for mercy. We should repent, turn from sin, and reject it. Because God is all-knowing and faithful, we can believe God hears our confession of faith. We can believe we are saved from our sins by the sacrifice and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We are saved by the power and authority of Jesus Christ’s holy name. Then our lives will be transformed by the love, joy, and peace of God’s amazing grace.
