We can trust God.

On page 47 of the Good News For You Child and Parent Devotional, there’s a picture of a boy gazing up at Jesus Christ hanging on the cross, with a sign above Jesus saying, “For You.” I have often wondered what the boy could be thinking as he gazes at Jesus. Thanks to Pastor Tim Keller, I believe I have the answer. The boy could be thinking: “I am made right with You Father God by the sacrifice of your Son. Father God, now I know I can trust You, because You did not withhold your Son from me, so I could be saved from eternal separation from You and the punishment of hell. Your love is marvelous, extraordinary and fabulous. I trust you Father God with my hopes, my life, and my everything.”
